A food processing plant was facing high waste removal costs due to frequent collections of solid waste every three weeks. The removal costs, calculated per ton, ranged from R12,000 to R24,000 per collection. The plant was spending approximately R60,000 over three months on waste removal and sought a solution to reduce these escalating expenses.

The Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) levels were significantly lowered and the client avoided fines from the municipality in Durban.
